I am Gabriela Salomón, and from a young age, my life has been deeply intertwined with the world of art, design, and creative expression. Over the span of my career, I have worn multiple hats, each contributing to my journey as a passionate advocate for artistic endeavors.
Educational Background and Early Career:
I am an Artist, an Industrial designer and professional theater make-up specialist, and for the past 13 years, I immersed myself in the field of education as an art teacher. My love for engaging students in the creative process fueled my commitment to cultivating their talents and fostering an understanding of art, design, and history. Witnessing the transformation of young minds into budding artists was a truly rewarding experience.
Entrepreneurial Ventures:
In 2002, I co-founded ARDA, a venture dedicated to designing furniture and interior spaces. This venture allowed me to blend my artistic sensibilities with practical design, contributing to the creation of aesthetically pleasing and functional environments. Simultaneously, I played a pivotal role in the success of Ideas Kreativas from 2003 to 2019, where my role as an interior designer allowed me to bring innovative ideas to life.
Artistic Achievements:
My artistic journey extends beyond the confines of traditional roles. I have participated in numerous personal and collective art exhibitions, leaving my mark on prestigious galleries and art fairs. Noteworthy events include my first intervention at the Huixquilucan Art Fair in January 2022, the Fauna Collective Art Exposition at Wine O Clock Gallery in Polanco, Mexico City and the Convergencia Collective Exposition at Sophia Art Gallery in Mexico City. In February 2020, I proudly contributed to the Volcanos Art Exposition organized by a financial group called Cualli. One of the highlights of my artistic career was the PAKAL, Lord of the Volcanos exposition in the lobby of the Cámara de Diputados Federal in December 2019. Additionally, my work was showcased in the Relieve Exposition at Centro Biodinámica México in August 2019.
Mural Art and Collaborations:
My artistic expression extends beyond the confines of galleries. I have adorned more than 20 houses and restaurants in Mexico City with my murals. Furthermore, my collaboration with the dance company "Latidos Urbanos" involved designing costumes and engaging in body painting, bridging the worlds of visual and performing arts.
Current Role:
Currently, I am contributing to the art world in a new capacity as the Gallery Manager of Galería Orchilla in the charming town of El Triunfo in Baja California. This role allows me to continue fostering a love for art and supporting the creative endeavors of both emerging and established artists. In essence, my journey is a testament to my unwavering passion for art—a force that has shaped my career, entrepreneurial ventures, and artistic collaborations. As I continue to explore new horizons, my commitment to the transformative power of creativity remains at the core of everything I do.
